The 53rd (Welsh) Division was a Territorial unit which first saw service during the Great War of 1914-1918, during the campaign in Egypt and Palestine.
It didn't see active service in the Second World War until being landed on the Normandy Beaches late in June 1944, as one of the reinforcing units after the main Normandy Landings.
The Division then fought in the break out of the Normandy Beachhead, through occupied France and Belgium into Holland, and crossed the Rhine into Germany in 1945.
This book is an amalgamation of the original 1955 published Divisional History, and of the 1945 published 'Team Spirit', both of which are now out of print.
