This story begins in the dungeon beneath a castle. The main character is a prisoner who has been left in the dungeon to starve. He has no idea who he is or why he is in the dungeon. He is surrounded by the skeletons of former prisoners, and he becomes convinced that they are talking to him. Through a series of vignettes, these skeletons tell him their stories and help him solve the riddle of his own identity and their mutual fate. Or are all these conversations only the hallucinations brought on by his slow starvation? A Little Place of Forgetting, C. S. Thompson's dark fantasy of amnesia, paranoia and corruption, includes all five books in this series including: A Little Place of Forgetting, The Ghost Doctor, Only Do As We Ask, Sanctuary, and I Remember Nothing (Parson's Tale) as well as the chilling conclusion to this story, When You Saw Me Robed in Splendor.
