I read this short collection of engaging blog posts in an evening and was sorry there were not more! If you have ever been to the Dominican Republic or want to go, these stories will intrigue you and give you an insider's view about the lives and struggles of the people, Dominican and Haitian and expats, who live there. The author writes about her challenges starting an NGO just after college and shares her reflections about how she manages setbacks and disappointments as she learns day by day how to better direct Project Esperanza. She discusses the cultural differences she encounters and makes the reader want to know more about the people she meets and the world she discovers. I recommend this ebook for armchair travelers, missionaries, teachers, short and long-term volunteers, and people headed to the DR for vacation.
