Hammond, Book One: The Hammond Project

Ain has come to Hammond seeking solace, hoping for a respite from despair. Instead, he finds himself in the midst some a willful shift of nature. Everything is turned upside down, and Hammond is cut off, left to wonder what has caused this change. Everyone looks to him for answers, and an odd succession of events suggests he has been set apart to serve a noble purpose in this strangely altered world. This purpose, however, he wishes to deny, and so he conceals the premonition. Yet there is one who sees him truly. Mallory guesses well his secrets and, against all of his resistance, has soundly claimed his heart. But Ain is convinced he must not let her have it. He will not risk to have her bound to such suffering and heartache as he is sure to find upon the path these foreshadowings have shown him he must follow...
