I read Carl Neville's Three Men, One Room over a span of two days. I'd say I couldn't put it down, but as he had attached it as a PDF file to an email he sent me it's more like I couldn't shut it down. Okay, sorry, no more bad puns. In any case, after I had finished it I immediately began pestering all my friends to read it. It's gripping, but that's almost an understatement. It grabs you from the first sentence, and where it could have turned into a normal book about one man's downward spiral after the death of his family, it fragments off into three confusing, disturbing, and vivid stories that intersect each other spatially and temporally while never quite merging into one. So a quick read, but definitely not a light one. A must-read for anyone who enjoys being shocked by their fiction, which is one of the things Neville does best. If White Diaspora didn't convince you that Carl Neville is one of the most exciting and innovative writers around, Three Men, One Room is bound to... More > change your mind.< Less
