HORACIO CAMINOS

ByCARLOS CAMINOS

Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
Horacio Caminos, an argentine architect, was first of all an educator and a researcher as attested in the Foreword by Cesar Pelli, also an argentine architect and former Dean of the School of Architecture at Yale University. He believed that “the heart of the matter is that in the best of cases, what ‘academia’ provides is instruction, rather than education. Education is aimed at developing the capacity to observe, think, understand, appraise, evaluate and make judgments. ...It should be remembered that the purpose of college education is to bring about the capacity to make judgments rather than to carry out instructions. It means …not so much as to memorize procedures as to know how to frame questions”. Here are presented some of his work in a wide range of fields within architecture and urbanism.
