Save Me a Seat by the Drummer is a comical and poignant compilation of Carmine J. Scarpa's recollections of childhood and youth. Born with Spina Bifida, Mr. Scarpa's physical disability is a constant and significant thread throughout this stream of conscious memoir. The baby boomer author is frank and honest in recounting the embarrassing and regrettable times, in addition to the happy and inspiring ones.

Mr Scarpa's book made me laugh out loud. It is filled with interesting snippets of life, which one can often relate to their own experience. I applaud his effort and would like to see more work from this talented author. Very enjoyable.
