"Elemental Expression rocks!" This book of poetry is passionate and, at times, transcendant (take a look at "Music of One" in the Air section, or "The Math of It" in the Water section). It's easy to choose what to read depending on your mood. If you choose the Fire poems, be ready for some deeply felt commentary about the state of the world. Or, wait a minute, is that about American politics? That's the beauty of Carol Digou's poems - they can be read on a number of different levels and interpreted individually. If you go for more earthy stuff, check out the sensuality and the irony in "The Victim." If you're looking for lighter fare, read her uniquely Alaskan "Fireweed" and "Denali." This slim volume is portable and well worth the read. You can find something different in each poem, and multiple readings can create more layers and dimensions of meaning.
