Fierce & uncompromising, with an almost potent militancy, Ranting Of A Mad Black Woman is the latest poetic edition in Castina Charles’ expanding repertoire. Containing both an eloquence, as well as a raw candid display of emotion, this collection of poems is a reflection of Charles’ evolution in style. With poems like, “A Little Thing Called Madness,” “Re-Education,” and “Walking In Blood,” Charles passionately displays the full extent of her rage, in a way that inspires contemplation on the status qua.
Beautifully crafted, with a firm root in culture, Ranting Of A Mad Black Woman adds an exciting and powerful dimension to Castina Charles’ body of work. Truly a marvelous read.
