Picture a bend in a relatively narrow river bordered by lush green grasses, shrubs, and a few palm trees, and this, in the middle of an endless plain of yellow grass as far as the eye can see (Siringit being the Masai word for endless space). On one side, a pride of seventeen lions in full view, about thirty metres away from a small herd of elephants, on the other side, more elephants bathing and dunking themselves in the mud. Beside them, a large raft of hippo spanning the width of the river, and to boot, a Nile crocodile slowly swimming by. As if this wasn't good enough for our senses, the elephants decided that the lions were in their space, and charged them, trumpeting in anger...an incredible experience! We had to pinch ourselves to believe that we were really there.
