This hardcover casebound volume is comprised of 678 full color plates of the entire Gospel book known as The Book of Kells. The beautiful hand-painted illumination necessitated a full-color publication.

This really is the full Book of Kells in full color. Took a chance on this at the price and I'm quite happy with it. This is the only facsimile of the FULL Book of Kells I've seen anywhere other than the $14000.00+ replicas from Addison Publications and other high-end publishers. This may not be as perfect as those, but it's great considering the price difference. Everything else I've seen on the NORMAL market only has certain "selected plates"; I wanted the WHOLE Book of Kells, and this is it. The plates are amazing. This book is a treasure that is not in print at an affordable price anywhere else that I've seen, so get it while you can if you want the Book of Kells. The binding is typical POD hardcover binding that is about on part with the binding they do with typical college textbooks: it's ... adequate. (Which is simply what Lulu offers.)
