It seems like in the last 10 or 15 years, society is finally catching on that bullying and now cyberbullying is out of control. How many people are going to live a life of low self-esteem or in extreme cases consider or even commit suicide? For far too long we have listened to rubbish where people claimed bullying is some sort of demented rite of passage. It is not and it never was. What it is---is sick. So many times even when someone talks about bullying or a book is written it kind of downplays some of what has occurred, what the realities are, and it sugarcoats the truth. That is why this tell-all book is a real gem of an anti-bullying book. The story had to be painful for the author to write and the details and descriptions provide an image that only the bullied can truly understand. What I love about the book is the author admitted to her own shortcomings when it came to at one point bullying someone else. The book also hits on something important society is still slow to... More > grasp-females can be as bad or worse than males. So many times we read about what a male is doing to a female and that is horrible, but women are no longer (and probably never were) the gentler sex. The torment this writer received was horrid and here is to hoping those involved finally grew up. The language is real in this book and you should listen carefully to what the writer has to say. This is one of the better antibullying books on the market that I have seen lately and is an important read not only for those who bully or have been bullied, but for parents or just good, decent people who care how others treat one another.< Less

This book was a real eye opener to the damaging effects of bullying. This book gives a real life account of what it is like to bully and be bullied. The author definitely went through a challenging time and the behavior of her classmates and even some teachers is astonishing. Kids can be very cruel and unfortunately these mean spirited kids often grow up to be even worse adults. Mrs.White does an amazing job of the torment she faced in school and admitted to the times when she herself could have acted better. The book comes across as an honest account of what bullying is and you can hear her voice throughout this writing. There is much to like about the writing style of the author and the strength she shows mentally and physically is amazing. This writer appears to have some real talent and this book, unlike many other books on bullying, doesn't pull any punches. So many anti-bullying books seem to tone down what really happened. Mrs.White tells it like it is and that is truly... More > refreshing. I would recommend you picking up a copy.< Less
