I'll start the ball rolling with a self-review of my own book. I would give it 4½ stars if the software would allow. It seems to be the only glasses-free 3D coloring book on the market. The graphic-novel-like characters and stories are the reason to buy; the 3D images are a bonus, but you don't need to see the 3D to enjoy the 5 short stories. Although it is a work of fiction, you may find yourself googling interesting subjects like "thermic lance", "cos-play", "Jackson Pollock", "Tegucigalpa", and "celebrity who covered her nude body in paint and rolled herself along a large canvas". Almost everyone finds an excuse to strip down to their underwear or swimwear, but "The Birth of Venus" and "The 12 Labors of Hercules" have the only uncensored nudity in the book. The SolarPunk is subtle. There's no character who says, "Here's why I'm a SolarPunk, and here's how you can become one." But the ideas and... More > ideals of an infinitely sustainable future show up on nearly every page. Fashion influenced by global warming, wearable technology, and alternative energy sources are ubiquitous. However, it is lacking in SolarPunk architecture: Hobbit homes, LEED buildings, self-filtering swimming pools, etc. And no one mentions his/her electric car. It is screaming for a Volume 2 with more preaching the gospel of SolarPunk. The beta readers liked the "Japan Vacation" chapter the best. That's a love story with very little sci-fi. Characters in the other stories are noticeably distant from each other, as Millennials have been criticized. The last story takes all the criticisms of the Millennial generation and doubles them, so the future of the human race has lots of glamour and nifty gadgets, but little commitment and loose relationships. If CyberPunk believes, "The future is disposable," and SteamPunk believes, "Alternatives were always possible," then SolarPunk steps forward, saying, "Alternatives can sustain us forever."< Less
