Olga Isabella Nethersole, CBE, RRC Born 18 January c. 1867 in Kensington (London) the daughter of Christina Enderby who was born in Boston, Lincolnshire and is described as "a woman of Spanish descent" and a Henry Nethersole, who was descended from an ancient Kentish family the Nethersole`s whom produced a number of other prosperous and famous personages. Olga was an actress, theatre producer, and wartime nurse/health educator who set up the Peoples League for Health. Educated in England and Germany, she was obliged to go on the stage to support herself due to the untimely death of her father who was a solicitor and died when she was 5 years old. She served as a nurse in London throughout World War I and later established the People's League of Health, for which she received the Royal Red Cross (RRC) in 1920. She combined her theatre work with health work for the rest of her life. She was created a Commander of the British Empire (CBE) in 1936. The book touches on many aspects of her life and family.
