If you train this kata in your system, this is a must have book. The information is easy to follow and very concise. Read it and then re-read it. It is a treasure.

This is simply one of the best Karate books that I have had the pleasure to read. The level of knowledge and information in this book is inspiring and is delivered with an excellent style of writing that makes it hard to put down. Well worth buying and you will pick it up and read it again and again.

If you practise a type of karate which includes naihanchi or tekki within its kata syllabus, I believe this book to be essential. In fact, even if you don't practise naihanchi, I firmly believe the ideas and theories discussed by Mr Denwood will provide you with useful new outlooks upon your own already established practises. This book is not made up of endless sequential photographs and little accompanying text. The balance here is firmly upon providing the reader with ideas and theories to use in their own study. This is not a book which is to be read and then placed upon a shelf, but rather, it is a roadmap to achieving body integration. As shown in Mr Denwood's youtube videos, he has an in-depth knowledge of power generation and energy transfer, and has provided within this work a step-by-step method of enhancing these areas within your own practise. This information has been greedily seized by him as a result of his dedication over many years daily practise. This publication is... More > will not give you a million obscure and unworkable applications, nor will it teach you how to correctly form a fist. It will however, assist the intermediate practitioner in developing a more intuitive understanding of the workings of their own body structure and how to effectively achieve more with less. Naihanchi is said to be the single most important kata to those who trace their martial heritage to the Shuri district of Okinawa. With this publication, Mr Denwood has put forth a convincing argument as to why this is so. I look forward to Vol 2. Well done!< Less
