The Basic Fantasy Role-Playing Game is a rules-light game system based on the d20 SRD v3.5, but heavily rewritten with inspiration from early RPG game systems. It is suitable for those who are fans of "old-school" game mechanics, and it's simple enough for children in perhaps second or third grade to play, yet still having enough depth for adults as well. This is the revised 2nd Edition of the Basic Fantasy RPG Core Rules.

BUY THIS BOOK! I took the authors advice and downloaded the *Free* copy on his website first, and wow, I was impressed. Original art, clear concise instructions, easy to learn game system, and a few improvements over the "Official" old school system (armor classing just to name one). My kids have almost destroyed my "free" copy so now I am supporting the author by buying this one. If you liked the old school system of play then you will love this, takes the game back to the basics, when it was really fun and about roleplaying and not who has the greatest scores (or the money to buy the most books). Chris Gonnerman (and crew) you did a fine job putting it all together and bringing back some great memories for me and giving the game a new life with my children, Thank you very much.
