In a European courtroom a unique litigation case begins. The murderer has already been found guilty and sentenced, but the victim’s father believes he lost his daughter because the killer saw a violent film. The proof is in a new, powerful brain scan that in moments can extract all of a person’s memories and thoughts.
Alek Moreyl is the young litigator who must convince the judges that the film told the murderer to kill the girl. To help him he has an expert in this new technology, but the defendants also have their own expert intent on disproving the claim.
After tense courtroom hearings and just as the case is about to be resolved, disaster strikes the city. Thousands are killed, Alek barely escapes with his life, and he finds himself sucked into a frightening world of political intrigue, danger and terrorism.

This is a compelling and very fast-paced story which does not let you leave it until you've read it all! It's amazing how the Author managed to create this incredible action-packed atmosphere. Not a fan of action stories involving lawyers, this book has made me think twice about it. It actually is a must-read for all English speaking Europeans working in corporations. Chris James has proved that Poland can be a far more interesting place for an action story than Russia and he is definitely the first writer who has managed to achieve that. Well done and I'm looking forward to his next book.
I thoughtly enjoyed reading this book. I found this exciting and thrilling and I got really absorbed within its theme. I didn't want to put this down until I finished it. I enjoyed the compliments the front cover got whilst I was reading it too! This is a great first book and I can't wait to see what comes next!! What ever it is I really hope it comes soon.
An exciting new author! Good combination of science fiction and courtroom drama. If science fiction is 'your thing', you will certainly enjoy reading this book. I have read it and thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward enthusiastically to the author's next work.
When Chris asked me for help in this project I didn't realise in what I was actually involved. I'm a halfway through the book and it's really difficult to concentrate on anything else! Very interesting and patriotic for me as a Polish, full of realistic characters, no cliches, knowledge of technologie and science… well.. great stuff! It was worth to buy. Thank you CJ!
This is a very clever, interesting but dark story about one guy and future of Poland and Europe. I could not leave this book alone till I finished it! There is very good and convincing new technology which can see in the brain and know everything - scary! The main character Alek - a very clever but ordinary guy, gets too involved in a case and finds out important info about future and everyone wants to kill him! You never know what happens next! Worth to read. The author must have an extremely rich imagination!
