"The best book for families dealing with autism" Christie Burnett's story of her own family's fight with autism shines a light for anyone who has to deal with this illness. Her story shows that there's hope for any child with autism. Some can improve, while others can overcome it completely (as did her son, Anthony). The observation sections at the end of each chapter act as a guidebook. Christie is sensible, straightforward, and isn't a prisoner of doctrine or tradition. She encourages her readers to explore every promising path, while showing a variety of methods (Verbal Behavior, diet and therapies) that have helped many autistic children find their way back from that silent world. This is a book of hope and action. It inspires readers to hope, believe and act in the fight against autism.
