The powerful title of this book gives you a flash to the incredible content that awaits you. From the moment I open the book, I could not put it down. Christina Dalpiaz opens her life to the world with no reservations. She shares experiences and emotions that go back to her childhood. Her pain is felt through the pages of this book as if you were the one living the tragedies she endured. Her optimistic approach to life despite her harsh upbringing is exemplary and provides a foundation, opportunities and moments to a nephew who could not cope with the negative influences he received from his birth mother. Nature vs. Nature win interchangeably throughout the book. Christina takes on responsibilities that were not hers to endure in order to make a difference in various family member’s lives, and never gives up. “Sparrows in a Hurricane” is a riveting story of courage, endurance, perseverance and love, a must read.

The stamina of Ms. Dalpiaz is truly unbelievable. Her analogy of addiction with the fury and destruction of a hurricane is remarkably enginous. The planks Ms. Dalpiaz walks striving to save her son is unimaginable to most of us. Inspired to write through true horrifying life experiences, this is a must read book for anyone being challenged with addiction or mental illness.
