This is the sixth and last volume (420 pages, edition 25.3, November 2012) of the Motion Mountain physics text. This volume, in contrast to the five preceding ones, presents a speculative topic: after explaining why past attempts at the unification of physics have failed, it introduces the so-called strand model. The strand model unifies general relativity, quantum theory, and the standard model of particle physics.
The strand model contains all of twentieth century physics; in addition, it solves all those questions of physics that were still open in the year 2000. The model makes numerous testable and surprising predictions. So far (2012), these predictions agree with all known experiments. Prepare yourself for a rollercoaster ride through modern physics and through recent research!
The text, printed in black and white, is written in an easy style, uses little mathematics, and is accessible to undergraduates, teachers and anybody who is interested in the foundation of... More > physics.
