It Often Deprives Me of My Sleep is an experimental gumbo that reminds the reader of Jean Toomer's 'Cane' and grapples with the process of creating for a people who 'seemingly' have lost a passion for discovering books that are unconventional. In this book of discovery and journey a lot is attempted and whether it is successful is really up to the reader and how they interpret this work.
