Ruapehu for Breakfast

ByChristopher Mark Piper

Mount-Ruapehu in central north-island New-Zealand is employed as a metaphor for the feminine (especially, wifeliness in marriage). This mountain belongs to the Tongariro group (inclusive of Mt. Taranaki). Kiwiana is an expression embracing-of NZ-Culture or all things "Kiwi". This day to day journal views the splendid panorama of Mt. Ruapehu (as a vista over breakfast-brunch) in relation to local and world events, and other thoughts or inspirations the author conceived of the day. This book is, therefore, a liberal-mix of reflections and reactions, memories and in-the-moment crises, personal observations and lessons derived from place-name histories in relation to poetic-images. Religious and spiritual themes appear not infrequently throughout the work, but such is the physical and mystical nature of Our Land NZ-Down-Under. Good healthy marriage is seen throughout as the key to many (if not most) of current Social-Problems. There is much of beauty within these pages!
