"the prequel, methinks" Somehow, after reading One Cross To Bear, I get the feeling that Petal was done as a prequel. The tone seems to be more uniform, the typos fewer, the grammatical errors sparse. The story, moreover, is more focused; and the atmosphere easily draws the reader in. And, like the sequel, this one has suspense and good pacing, albeit with a few slip ups. However, like Cross -- and I hope the author doesn't mind if I nitpick -- has a bit of a layout problem. Is there something wrong with the book margins? I think this was a 6x9 book laid into an 8.5x11.
