Chua Myea Lyn, an aspiring young intern journalist in Singland News Daily,
becomes disillusioned when she is faced with the cruel reality of press
self-censorship. She is later acquainted with social activist Mr Jon Tan and
becomes awe-struck by his charisma.
She chances upon a conspiracy by the government, the police and the press
media to entrap Jon Tan who champions the bisexual cause.
As she observes the events unfold, accumulating into a cataclysmic moment
of “power to the people”, she realises that she too must clear the skeletons
in her closet for her to regain her true self.
Myea Lyn deftly unfolds her story, all the more frightening in its intensity
and invites you into the her world of Singland - where freedom of choice
is never a good thing, including the choice of writing in Singland slang -
Singlish.
