At forty-one, Roxie Whitson is content with her life. She’s got a decent job, some good friends, and she’s moved past the divorce that her husband asked for so abruptly years ago. There is still the occasional nightmare stemming from the suicide of a school friend, but even those are now few and far between.
Unfortunately, life sometimes throws a curveball, and it’s pitched Roxie a doozie. Her boss has eliminated her position, and there’s an unwelcome phone call from her mom, asking that Roxie close out her great-aunt’s estate in her hometown.
