Book 1 in a new series harking back to the style of stories written for girls and boys in the early 1900s, before the days of boy wizards, vampires, werewolves and zombies. The DeChancy sisters are eighteen year old girl triplets who love to race their 1927 Chris Craft speed boat around the 10-mile-long lake next to their home town in upstate New York. In this story they prepare for an exciting race held over their spring break from high school. But things are not as bright and easy as they might like. A local boy is trying to sabotage their beloved boat, strange men have been overheard plotting an accident against them, and they come upon something strange and potentially deadly hidden in the lake. Undeterred by the potential dangers, they enter the around-the-lake race and go on a treasure hunt for a hidden cache of gems and jewels. This story can be enjoyed by girls as young as 7 (with assistance) and up to practically any age.
