"Like Elvis, the Bouncy Paramecium is Everywhere!" "The Bouncy Paramecium and Other Tales of Distaste" collects the early works of quirky Ohio surrealist Claytron Becraft in one handy portable edition. The title character, as cuddly as a stuffed virus, has various encounters with aliens, exploding appliances, and his own physical limitations that end in disasters worthy of classic Wile E. Coyote adventures, or maybe Camus' "The Stranger" if The Stranger had been the least bit happy and cuddly. In the end, the Bouncy Paramecium is Everyman, or at least Everyman who can survive explosions, falls, and other serious injuries and still spell the word P-A-R-A-M-E-C-I-U-M correctly. I suspect a line of Paramecium toys would prove to be as popular as the plush Bunnywith series, or Gloomy Bear. Other characters featured in this comic book include various anthropomorphic food items, a guy with a genetically mutated penis, hoboes, and Robert Smith. This is a book... More > best read after you've had a little something something to blur the bounds of any reality that would suggest this is "fantasy" crap. Or perhaps you could just morph yourself back to Pee-wee's Playhouse and imagine what that would be like if Pee-wee read Mad magazine and had the patience to sit and draw entire one-page comic strips.
