Andrew Sewell: "I intend this pamphlet to be a companion piece for Casualties in the Light Brigade at Balaklava (Special Publication No. 10). It has come about simply because as I compiled those lists I became intrigued to find out what happened to Prisoners of War, and, as we in the CWRS have come to expect, the various published authorities do not agree with each other, giving a clear opportunity for the correction and emmendation of published data. In particular, I was interested to find out which men died in captivity, and which were repatriated."
