Alfred Robert Thompson joined the Commissariat and was stationed at Balaklava during 1855. He also spent time at Constantinople to recover his health. These are his letters home from the East to his sister Jane, between 17 January and 11 June 1855. Transcribed and compiled by Hamish Bradley. This is the 'economy' edition with an entirely black & white interior. (See also the 'luxury' edition which has a number of the illustrations in their original colour.) [A4, 52pp, saddle-stitch]
