This novel of the Revolutionary War on Lake Champlain puts you in the middle of the exciting first months of action on the lake as bands of American volunteers seize Fort Ticonderoga from the British and then take the war north into Canada. It is nautical fiction, a story of ships and small boats and brave men challenging the mightiest empire in the world. This is the first book of a series set in the first year of the Revolution along the traditional lake and river passageways between the American settlements along the Hudson River and the British forces north of the lake. The hero is just who he should be: a young man who finds himself and his country in the confusion and danger of a stirring time in American history.

"Reviews for *Seizing the Forts*" I'm the author, so naturally I don't like this book much. I want a better one. That's why I write this review: to invite you to help me edit this story to make a better one. I welcome comments, corrections, suggestions, etc. For example, I've decided the title is boring, and I've already chosen a better title for the next edition. If you agree, please tell me so. If you want a stronger main character, or a stronger role for women, or more Tory politics, or less guns and ships, hey, say so. Don't worry much about spilling goofs, please. It turns out that moving my .doc files to .pdf files generated some odd mistakes, and since I did my own proofing, I made some too. But I'm sure I made plenty of mistakes in technical, historical, and geographical matters too. Yes, please tell me about them. Oh the story?
