The immigrant

From the first time I heard Dan tell of his escape from his homeland, I knew his story had to be preserved. Then I heard about other events in Dan’s life, and realized what a remarkable life he has had. His story tells of heroics, of struggles, of love and also of great tragedy. It stands as an inspiration to us all. This is one man striving to do his best through the trials and joys of his mortal journey here on earth. Dan is a man of great courage and tenacity. He is man of great faith, someone who is truly seeking to follow in the footsteps of the Savior. He is someone dedicated to serving and helping his fellow man. No one could be more kind or considerate than Dan, and his wife Maria who makes the world’s best apple strudel. I have had the privilege of being in their home on many occasions, and I count those times as a great blessing. I hope that everyone who reads this book and looks at these pictures will feel of the great man who wrote these words. -Peter Darby
