Hi, my name is Dana DeGennaro. I’m a 1996 graduate of Johnson & Wales University, one of the country’s top culinary institutes, and author of “DANA’S 100 FAVORITE SOUPS (But I Could Only Come Up with 82)”. Soups have always been my specialty. I even won “Best Chowder” in Boston’s Chowder Festival at the Copley Place Marriott in Boston while completing my studies. I grew up summering in Nantucket and was head chef at some of the island’s finest restaurants, even earning the coveted “Best Breakfast in Nantucket” for my service at the Beach Plum Café. There’s nothing I enjoy more than creating a great meal which I believe starts with a fine soup. I’ve been lucky enough to attend workshops by great chefs like Julia Childs, Emeril Lagassi and Paul Purdhomme, learning and perfecting along the way.
