"Bloody Confessions To A Paper Jesus" Once in a great while, one comes across a writer who has much wisdom to share. I have found this in Dandylion. This book is a brave and stunning work. She has the amazing gift to open the readers mind and invoke emotions, where you can find a lesson to learn with each poem. "Come Inside My Sleeping Robes" feeds the readers soul with the most beautiful metaphors in a true classic form of poetry. If you are i need of something to make you feel, dream, fall in love, and cherish, this book will feed your soul.

"Bloody Confessions To A Paper Jesus" I have had the great pleasure of watching this talented woman blossom and grow as a poet. “Bloody Confessions To A Paper Jesus” is just that, confessions from a broken woman who wrote to understand herself and the darkness she had endured. This book reads like a diary and in a way it is, capturing the moments in time that shattered her spirit and mad her soul bleed. This collection of poetry chronicles the poet as she rises above her pain and disappointments in life delivering her up and out of the darkness of depression and abusive relationships. “Pink and Broken” and other poems gives us a glimpse of the child as the first cracks appear taking us to Ultimate Design and the realization that womanhood can be a curse in a man dominated society. The relationships, drug abuse and, the heartaches of a failed marriage are all here to rip your heart out as this brilliant woman takes you on a poetic journey through a broken and bruised soul. I... More > have read and edited many books of poetry and this is my all time favorite. Yes, I must admit I am prejudiced because she is my wife but it was the poems contained in this book that led me to her and let me see inside her soul. I invite you to come and see for yourself how hard it is to be Pink and broken. iblieve Co-founder D.A.R.C. Poets Society< Less

"Bloody Confessions to a Paper Jesus" This book of poetry by Dandylion is a trip through abuse, love and survival. It is like Sylvia Plath revisited, only with much more hope! The sadness and discouragement of "Moving On" with the poignant lines "but we forgot a few things,/like my dad and my cat" show the loss of a relationship that needed to be lost with a father,,but the sadness of child losing a pet. This poem deals not only with moving physically but emotionally as well. "Dead Girl Walking" gives us "she breathes on remote now" after all the pain laid upon her she is just going through the motions--feelings numbed by life. Later she persuades the past to leave her in "Die,Demon, Die" "holding the blade/against her heart,/ her truth,/ hoping to be free. Time to disengage from the baggage---and then to the very bottom of consciousness with "i own this pain"---yes she says,,"it is all mine"--but... More > then "I want Big Boobs" gives that defiant woman, in a humorous way saying "i want a new me" then in "Forever and a Day" she asks the new man who has captured her heart and rescued her from her sorrow,,,"will you stay?"--trying to feel trust,,but it is so hard. And then Dandy ends with "Her" a poem that sings of hope,,and the resolve that she has now left "that girl who has suffered so much at the hands and words of men, and has moved on to a new life of love and happiness." If only Sylvia Plath could have done the same,,,Dandylion's book is therapeutic for anyone who has gone through what she has,,,it speaks of hope and love and change---and so neatly captures the entire transition from sad and abused child to finally reaching that ideal in womanhood,,,love and comfort. "Bloody Confessions" will grab onto you and not let you go for the entire 129 pages of heart and guts writing that only Dandy can do in her signature way! A must read for all poets, or for anyone who has suffered at the hands and words of others. jacob erin-cilberto< Less
