Small town tales of a boy and his runaway pony followed by high school days when he discovered he wasn't ready for the "Wonder Years". Later years when the boy began impersonating an adult are also included.

"From the Writers With Humor Founder" In the Forward of this book, Danny Dunne thanks two "Writers With Humor" members for encouraging his writing and being editors of his early work so that this work is as you see it--a wonderful volume of stories called "Back to Hidalgo." Well, I am the Founder of The Writers With Humor, begun in the spring of 1997. I couldn't be more proud or thrilled for Danny. I just finished reading the final edition of Danny's book. But I have seen these stories before, for several of us have workshopped together as a writing group on each other's projects. That's what we do. And now I have a message to you, Danny: I am even more of a fan, Danny than I was before. Your light is really shining in this volume. I say: more, more! Congratulations, Danny.
