David Ayala’s career began in Las Vegas during the early 90s. He designed collectible, themed gaming tokens for most of the casino gaming industry. His experience with computer graphics led him to the sign industry for several years. The 2000s found David briefly doing editorial cartoons for the Ottumwa Courier, in Ottumwa, Iowa. Through it all, David has worked on numerous pen and ink drawings, t-shirt designs, and done live caricature art for events. Currently he works on his comic strip, “Pineapple Street” and a series of novellas entitled “Insanity”.
This edition focuses on David's black and white artwork back to the late 1980s up to now; readers can track a career over a 20 year time span. Features in this volume include the very first Pineapple Street strips, dozens of celebrity caricatures, 40 editorial from the Ottumwa Courier, some extremely detailed pen & ink illustrations, and individual "behind the scenes" commentary on each work of art.
