"break out the red pen, this needs some work!" This book needs some serious editing. It has grammar problems, formatting errors, shifting views (choose third person or first, not both!) and the sentence structure needs work. Also, there are too many cliches used. I would use examples, but there are far too many mistakes in that 13 page preview. To think the whole book is like this! If the author hasn't edited it already, take it to a professional editor to work out the kinks. It seems like a good story, but those glaring errors are dampening my enjoyment of the story.

"Re: Editing" Thank you for your comments, I do not take offense and agree with your assessment. I am searching for editors to assist with this project and help to attempt to market this for publishing. Thanks again.

"Editing" One of the hardest things for most of us to do is tell the truth concerning errors and mistakes. But because I know the importance of a book review I will speak honestly and hope you will listen and not turn away in anger. Your work and creativity is great. The story had an array of imagery that allows the reader to see everything in an entertaining graphic manner. That's a great thing. I saw the man. I saw where he was, his thoughts and where he was headed. But in the midst of reading all that, I stumbled across the writing that was a little rough on the edges. You do have the talent and zeal for writing but the book needs some editing. We all need editors, we have the talent to write but not every writer has the talent or gift to edit their own work. I wonder if there is any who really does. But it's your work so a lot of errors can get by. Please have someone check it for grammatial and formating errors. I learned this the hard way now I will not publish... More > until an editor looks over my work. I've edited my book 3 times on my own before I figured it was better to have someone look at it. And I did get an editor who did it for me at an unbelievable price. Thank God. It's not a matter of how smart you are or how many skills you've got. It's just not easy to edit your work when the words of the literature you're editing flowed from your heart. Since you recognize it and it's familiar to you it's easier for you to overlook errors. It's a great book, now let the editors do their work. Sincerely, Coretta< Less
