The Storms of May is a collection of 114 original jigs, reels, hornpipes, marches, and other dance tunes arranged for the 8-keyed wooden flute, fiddle, tin whistle, mandolin, Irish bagpipes and other instruments suitable for Irish music. The tunes were written during an 18 month period during which I also happened to be in a battle with a particularly aggressive form of cancer. The tunes are arranged in the order in which they were written. Many tunes are presented in two versions: a simple, un-ornamented version and a more complex version with traditional rolls, cuts, tips and other ornaments written out in musical notation.
