Steele is an excellent storyteller, a true wordsmith who not only knows how to spin a tale, but also knows how to keep you interested and wanting to read more. The story builds and grows on you and like any good storyteller, Steele delivers an engrossing and riveting tale that never ceases to satisfy. He excels at the craft of telling a good story and that is one of the book's obvious strengths. Jeffrey Miller, author of the Korean War novel, War Remains.

I don't usually read science fiction stories - love the movies, but stick more to reading mysteries and adventure stories. A few weeks ago, as a matter of courtesy, I began reading the sample chapters you provided on FB and immediately got sucked into the story without hesitation and purchased the book. I finished Sexton this week and thoroughly enjoyed it. You wonder how teens like these three friends could get into so much trouble, but when I thought back to my own childhood, it realized it wasn't hard to do. As I mentioned to you earlier, the beginning of the book led me to believe that it was going to be a war story and playing soldier with BB guns soon became a reality and life and death struggle in some foreign land. I was surprised to find the later setting make me feel like I was living in the days of Robin Hood, except for the watchful eyes of these Protectors. Everything was simple, yet life was difficult at that time. It was good to see somebody rebel against the extra... More > taxes and ways of the Guild. The story does take an unexpected turn which eventually climaxes in a major battle where the good old BB gun still came in handy. The ending of the book left the story wide open, I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series. Great imagination - Five stars Dave! I'm also posting this on Amazon.
