I enjoyed reading of Dave Peters and his years spent on the New Haven, Penn Central and finally, Amtrak. The book features his job responsibilities over the years, changing work conditions, company management styles and varied work assignments with each management takeover. Also featured, his travels using his Amtrak employee pass and a variety of friends and acquaintances made through his life. Just Google Dave Peters Railroader of Connecticut and you will find much additional information on this genuine individual, including his volunteer work with school students on the subject of railroading and his personal railroad museum. Thanks for sharing your career and knowledge with all of us, Dave.

"Non Operating" Excellent story of the non operating crafts. Dave Peters feels the same way that most of us operating employees felt about PennCentral. We hated PennCentral. Most of us love the New Haven and read and write about it all the time. Good book Dave. I hope other people write about their experiences on the railroads in a very changing environment.
