An outstanding, practical ESL book that intermediate and advanced English language learners love. I've used this book with ESL students at Santa Monica Community College, UCLA Extension American Language Center, and USC. The exercises allow students to systematically expand their English vocabulary while sharing important news articles from their discipline or of their own choice. In a field where many ESL books seem to treat English language students with less respect than ideal or promote grammar out of context, this excellent book helps students develop critical language skills in context. I strongly recommend all versions of this fantastic book!
