Mal is a gargoyle. "Ugly as sin and probably twice as sinful". But it wasn't always so. Once - a very long time ago - he was as human as you or I. But how did the son of a Reverend end up with a tail, four legs and a forked tongue?

"Reads well, enough to want more" Writing in the first person is difficult for many, and these, like I do myself, ever fall back on the comfy, sometimes harmless third past, but the author here has a delightful, whimical 'personal' style, which flows smoothly but in a way to hold one's interest. To add to the allure for the reader, the subject matter as offered via the preview, promises a delightful fest of the macabre, whether its comic macabre as the preview infers, or something rather darker, well, that's what previews are for, aren't they? Hooked? I am, and I will be reading the full offering very soon. I am curious to know as to whether this will send me to bed in the hope a gargoyle akin to a Stephen King Clown, doesn't appear in the bathroom mirror as I gargle? Or will I fall to the floor laughing? ( But not too near the space under the bed, in any case. ) Excellent style, great story telling ability, and I'm sure the full book will not fail in living up to the... "What I never knew about a gargoyle" A most engaging preview guaranteed to peak the interest of those who delight in tales of magic and the fantastic.

"nice work" A nicely worked story. Just a suggestion, I think maybe the type for the section written by Mal should have been different (It would have been more effective to see his slightly messy writing instead of being told he was writing with his claw).

"The Gargoyles Tale" This is a fantastic book[dedicated to me], by my best friend. It is a small taster of a larger book yet to be published [which is also brilliant]. Don't think that because i am her friend i will say anything to get others to buy it, as she is my best friend i have always been truthful even when it is hard to hear. But saying that, this is my type of book. And as it is one of her early works[i am expecting more] i think it is very well written.

I thought the book was very good, with well-developed caracters and a very good storyline. I think Dawn is a very talented author; to write a book entirely in first person is quite difficult, but Dawn has done a good job at it. I hope to read more of Mal's stories in the future, or any other novel Dawn writes. My favourite caracter in it was Mal's mother, but i won't say anything about her so as not to ruin anyone's read of a good book.
