Set against the backdrop of the late 1780's, "New Order for the Ages" details a dramatic story about two cousins adopting opposing positions on the question of whether a new United States Constitution should be ratified. Wilson Griffith believes it should be. His cousin Pompey Griffith, on the other hand, wants the Articles of Confederation retained, because of his distrust of strong national governments. The two cousins' disagreement comes to epitomize the conflict that rages over the proposed constitution under which America will eventually find herself governed.
