This was one hell of a read, a real up close view into the men and cars that have dominated our streets and race tracks. The author, Dean Rinaldi, did a cracking job bringing all the legends together. Pucker job!

I'm not a big reader and it really was not on my Christmas list but what a brilliant surprise. I picked it up thinking, nice cover but I'll just scan through a couple of pages and put it on the shelf. How wrong was I! What a read, I just couldn't put it down. The stories are great and the pictures of their cars - superb. The first book I'd read in decades. If you like the whole modified car, street racing kind of thing but with real people then you'll love it!

I was a police officer stationed at Croydon during the 1970's and 80's. Street racing back then was absolute rife! We knew who all the major offenders were but catching them in the act...almost impossible! In all honesty a few of us were 'entertained' by their loveable rogue antics. No more so than Andy, Jeff,Ron Harris Snr and the members of The South London Custom Car Club. Those old fords with their racing V8's were street lethal with smoking burnouts, doughnuts on major roads and reports of them racing at over 100mph! The book just brought it all back....with a smile :) Its a great account of the street racers, their cars and the culture. 10/10

My son bought me this for book for Christmas and it really is the dogs dangly bits! Most of the names are familiar to me having raced and attended numerous race meetings at Santa Pod but they were only names or sketchy stories from friends but Britain's Street Racing Legends blows the whole gaff wide open. The Harris family.... what absolute legends, Andy Frost, Simon Boot and Andy Carter revealing so much stuff about his past... top man! The writing style is spot on for the genre and an absolute must read for lads, dads and proper blokes!
