Jul 20, 2013This captivating book contains poems, sayings and exquisite photographs of the well-known Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Lady Charlemagne. The poem “Love at Paw’s Reach” is an unforgettably touching tribute to the relationship between dog and owner. It begins, “My Dad is the angel at the end of my leash”…and leads the reader into the heart of every dog, as she looks up at her “Dad”. ”Lady C”, as she is known, offers wisdom and insights into this sweet breed, and life itself, with the help of her owner and Mom, Deborah Heldt Cordone.

Mar 28, 2012Lady Charlemagne is a Tri-Color Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, one of four colors of this very special breed of dog. This beautiful girl, photographed along the coast of the Pacific Northwest, is a wonderful subject for this book by her adoring owner, Deborah Heldt Cordone. It is a tribute to the love that we develop for one of the most sweet and gentle souls in the world of dogs. The photography is superior, and the text and poetry set the perfect mood to help us understand and appreciate the special bond between us and our dogs. As an owner of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels myself, I highly recommend this beautiful book. Christine Snyder
Feb 26, 2012This was a lovely book showing the strong bond between Dog and Human Caregiver. It evoked so many emotions - joy, laughter, nostalgia. This is a wonderful way to show how dogs affect our lives, and we their lives. The photography was beautiful, having been done in the very far north of California as well as Oregon and Canada. There is no gratuitous affection, but rather one can truly see the obvious love of Lady Charlemagne, for her family. She is an extraordinary pup, so soulful and in tune with her world and her owners. It is a wonderful tribute to the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breed, and a wonderful book for anyone who lives with one, or is considering having a Cavalier. The photography, writing, and layout were very tastefully done. I hope we are treated to more pearls of wisdom from Lady C with the aid of her human mother, Deborah Heldt Cordone. Highly recommend this book as a gift for self or others.
