Chaos ensues as Rome abandons Britain, leaving native Britons alone to defend their shores from the growing Saxon invasion. Set in 5th Century Britain, this retelling of the traditional legends of Merlin, King Arthur, and Avalon, blends a mixture of historical fact with Arthurian fantasy.
Refreshingly innovative, the tale spans the mysterious birth of Merlin, climaxing with the conception of Arthur, the legendary future king of Britain. A young Merlin advises three High Kings: to fight through the bedlam, fight for the right to rule, fight to save the future treasure of Britain!
Interlacing love, revenge, mystery and murder, with a dash of humor, this coming of age adventure is a guide through the shrouded tales that embrace the Sons of Avalon.

"Couldn't Put This Book Down Once I Started Reading It" This book was a gift given to me by a good friend. With my busy schedule, I had decided I would read a chapter a night until I completed reading it. This novel captured my interest from the very beginning with the hawk and the unusual birth of Merlin. Once I started reading the book I couldn't stop reading it! The book's plot continued to keep my interest to the point I had it read in two days. Dee Marie has done an excellent job in writing the book. She writes in detail allowing you to envision all aspects of the characters and incorporates all phases of emotions. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading.
"Sons of Avalon" This book is fabulous. I have never before been interested in this era until I read this book. I could not put it down. It was spell binding and well written. Now, often those two traits do not go together. The action was compelling and the visual descriptions so well written that I could picture the characters as if I knew them. I gave it to my husband to read and he, also, could not put it down. I can't wait for the next one.
