BENEFITS OF ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP TRAINING
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
This dissertation examines the benefits of organizational leadership training. To
explore this subject, a 10-question mixed-method survey was given to 20 training-group
members prior to a leadership training program and again following the program. The
same survey was also given to 12 control-group members following the leadership
training program. Training-group and control-group members were all employees of
Neighborhood House, non-profit organization serving the Greater Seattle area working
with very diverse clientele facing challenges related to lack of resources. The leadership
training program was designed, in part, from a review of the literature, the information
provided in the focus groups, and discussions with senior leadership. The training
program was completed over 4 days during a 2-week period in June of 2010, and
included personal empowerment, time management, and communication skills.
