    "Puerto Rican Poetry" Your poetry is like the train on the tracks, having its own ritmo, letting out an unforgettable message of "I am here." What is amazing is how little we (Gringos) and you ("Portorros" en el Bronx) know about one another. I read your book like a Tornado (except when time was taken to peek at the glossary of terms). Did I enjoy it? I cannot say that I did not, yet, I cannot say it was enjoyable. It was painful & exciting, and my admiration to you has gone way up, almost to the tip of the Empire State Building. Your call to your brothers to wake up is heartwarming for its optimisam. I was especially touched by "From Boricua....we too now claim." (Pp 14-15), by the pride with which "Mother Mirror" ends (Pp 22), and most painfully by "A talk with Detective Ruiz." If it's true or not is completely irrelevant.
