"A True Landmark" 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars A true landmark, November 4, 2007 By M. Kei "~K~" (Chesapeake Bay, USA) - See all my reviews Five Lines Down : A Landmark in English Tanka is true to its name. Edited for two years by Sanford Goldstein, the 'grand old man of tanka,' and Kenneth Tanemura, it was the first English-language journal devoted to tanka. Publishing consistently high quality tanka, it featured many names that have gone on to become well-known in English tanka, and published for the first time many tanka that have come to be considered classics of the genre. Goldstein's editorials, especially his discussion of tanka structure, shed important and authoritative light on the form in English. For anyone who is a serious reader or writer of tanka in English, this is a must have volume. ~K~ M. Kei, editor-in-chief, Take Five : Best Contemporary Tanka
