Moved to Orange Co, NC, abt 18 miles from Hillsboro. Owned abt 400 acres on "Reedy Fork of Haw River" near Hillsboro, Orange Co, NC. Was a Regulator in pre-Revolutionary North Carolina. Regulators protested British letters of administration & exploitation. Regulators were the first group to offer armed resistance to British. It is claimed that Parish Garner was one of the Regulators, a radical group of North Carolina Colonists who rebelled against England"s oppressive trade and taxation policies as early as 1770 in the Battle of Alamance. per Census. Not listed in the 1800 Census. Might have lived for a time in Prince Edward Co, VA. "It is possible that they lived for a vtile in Southside Virginia, probably in Prince Edward County, because Parish's son, Sturdy Garner4, claims in his application for a Revolutionary War pension
