I didn't "study to become a poet." I was born a poet. B-sides or just continuations, or perhaps I am just studying to be another printed name, or most likely all of the "studying" is "observances" and these poems came out of a particular situation that happened to me——green is the colour that dominates throughout, and not because it's the primary subjectory, but rather because I feel like I was being thrown into the ground, and I was planted amongst the ferns——and it all came out of me in the forms of certain selected writings with a boldness that was unexpected. The poem, VAMPIRE POLAROID, is like what Gael Turnbull once wrote: "What was merely unspoken / is now beyond utterance." The poem is an INTERRUPTION of the FLOW of the book, intentionally, because of my own personal "interruption" that became relevant, enlightening, and clattered the kettledrums of my heart.
